21c enlisted architecture and interiors firm Deborah Berke Partners to reimagine the 100-year old Metropole Hotel, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as a contemporary art museum, boutique hotel, and restaurant and bar. The design team worked to restore the character of this once-grand hotel while creating a modern, forward-thinking space to showcase the work of today's artists. The 156 spacious guest rooms are filled with custom furnishings that lend a decidedly residential feel, providing a comfortable respite from the thought-provoking art and nonstop energy that fills the museum galleries.
