Borgo Pignano’s main building is an 18th century villa surrounded by traditionally planted English gardens overlooking pristine landscapes of Tuscany. There are fourteen elegant rooms and suites, some with original frescoes and all with en-suite marble and travertine bathrooms. La Canonica, the Priest’s house, adjoins the ancient church of San Bartolomeo and contains exceptional original features such as medieval stonework, archways, columns, vaulted ceilings, terracotta floors and restored medieval frescoes. La Canonica can be used as one large three bedroomed house or independently divided as two separate suites. It’s also possible to stay in our exclusive maisonettes , which are within an easy walk of the main villa, restaurant, gardens and infinity pool and in the luxury and comfortable Villas. Each individual property is designed and decorated in an elegant Tuscan style offering privacy and seclusion.

This lovely split-level maisonette offers beautiful views of the rolling Tuscan hills and the medieval town of Volterra. The first floor features a comfortable living and dining room with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The second floor has a large master bedroom with a queen double bed and en-suite bathroom, a loft with a Japanese tatami, a twin bedded room and a charming pocket balcony. Guests in La Piccionaia can also enjoy a shared al-fresco lounge and dining area.

Located in front of the hamlet’s old well, this charming three-tiered maisonette features a spacious and comfortable living and dining room with a fully equipped country kitchen, a wood burning stove and a guest bathroom on the ground floor. Il Pozzo has a triple bedroom with an en-suite bathroom on the second level and a master bedroom with a queen bed with an en-suite bathroom on the third level. Guests at Il Pozzo can enjoy a shared al-fresco lounge and dining area with views of the fortress hilltop town, Casole d’Elsa.

Il Fienile is located just in front of the imposing stone archway that leads to Borgo Pignano’s main villa. This attractive maisonette features a spacious master bedroom, a loft that overlooks a large living and dining room, an original wood burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom and an intimate balcony that that overlooks Pignano’s grounds. There is also a separate bedroom with twin beds, making Il Fienile a good choice for families.

La Legnaia was originally used to store firewood and can be found in a quiet corner of the ancient hamlet. Built on two levels, it features a comfortable living room with a corner kitchen on the first level and a bedroom with a queen French (140 cm) bed, an en-suite bathroom and a small private terrace on the second level.

Stallina is a gracious maisonette set in an ancient seventeenth-century building that has served as an animal shelter throughout the ages. Positioned in a secluded location inside the Borgo, Stallina's private terrace offers a breathtaking view over the un-spoilt Tuscan hills and beyond. The original terracotta tiled floors date from the sixteenth-century and the interior features exposed beamed ceilings and a rustic corner fireplace in the spacious living room. The living area has a sofa bed, and the interior style combines original architecture with contemporary designer touches, the maisonette also has a kitchen island and kitchenette. The bedroom features a double bed and the bathroom is decorated with Carrara marble and equipped with a shower and a bathtub. This is the perfect luxury hideaway for a couple seeking total tranquillity.

Casa del Guardia is a spacious maisonette occupying the entire first floor of a seventeenth-century building with a beautiful, natural stone exterior. During the nineteenth century, this property served as a dwelling for the guard of the estate. The maisonette is characterised by original details and comprises of a living area with an ample lounge and a kitchen area. Antique pieces of furniture and original artworks from the nineteenth and twentieth century’s sit harmoniously alongside the Tuscan terracotta floor and wood-beamed ceilings. The spacious bedrooms, one of which is a master bedroom and two with twin beds, each have en-suite bathrooms with showers, finished in elegant Carrara marble. Casa del Guardia offers an unparalleled view, including a glimpse over Borgo that opens to the breath-taking panorama of the Tuscan hills, offering ever-changing, timeless, views throughout the seasons, from dawn to dusk.

Located 200 meters from the main Villa, The Artists’ House is a large stone villa nestled in an oak and beech copse. The ground floor features a spacious studio with a wood-burning stove, fully equipped kitchen, dining area and bedroom with an antique Napoleonic sleigh bed and bathroom with large walk-in shower.
A flight of stairs leads to the master bedroom, which has a king bed, en-suite bathroom and terrace. The woodlands in which the Artists’ House is sited include a peaceful, outside lounge area.

Villa Il Poggio is located in a privileged position on the estate, 1.5 km from the center of Borgo Pignano and its services, with a breathtaking view that extends as far as the medieval town of Volterra.
This large nineteenth-century stone house renovated in the most authentic Tuscan style is ideal for hosting large families, groups of friends or yoga or biker retreats. Villa Il Poggio has a kitchen equipped with a wood-burning oven, a large dining area, a spacious living room with a large fireplace and a covered loggia with an unparalleled view.
All of its four spacious bedrooms have private bathrooms. A large private garden with aromatic plants, a beautiful heated infinity pool with solarium and mini gym, a private car park with charging point for electric cars and electric minicars made available free of charge complete the equipment of the villa.

The delightful 2-bedroom Villa Poggiarello is located on a hill 1.5 km from the center of Borgo Pignano and its services.
Immersed in the Tuscan countryside, with breathtaking views that extend as far as the medieval town of Volterra, it boasts two double rooms with private bathroom, one of which is a master bedroom with large windows overlooking the beautiful surrounding hills.
An equipped kitchen, a large dining room and a cozy living room with fireplace, a covered loggia, a private heated swimming pool with a solarium deck and a garden with aromatic plants make our guests' stay pleasant. The villa has a private parking with charging point for electric cars.
A 4-seater electric minicar is made available to guests free of charge.

This villa - The Vineyard - is a recent addition and, while within a two minute walk of Borgo Pignano, it offers a secluded atmosphere.
The entrance to the vineyard, which provides the grapes for all of Borgo Pignano’s organic wines, is also just steps away.
Il Vignino has two bedrooms - one with a double bed and one with twin beds - each having its own private bathroom.
The villa includes a dining room and kitchen, a spacious living room, an outdoor terrace, a heated pool, a garden planted with aromatic herbs, and a parking space with an electric charging station.
Villa la Cavalerizza
Villa la Cavalerizza
So named because it occupies the site of our previous stable which was presided over by our own Cavallerizza (horsewoman), the villa provides a refuge which families or close friends will be reluctant to leave.
The center of Borgo Pignano is just a short stroll away and the villa offers immediate views over the stables and horse arena which then give way to the undulations of Tuscan hill country.
La Cavallerizza has three spacious bedrooms (all with their own bathroom), a dining room, kitchen and living room that spill onto a shaded, outdoor terrace.
The heated pool is generously proportion and the garden is dressed with native plants and parking space with an electric charging station.
